PLA activities in the waters and airspace around Taiwan

1.Date：
6 to 6 a.m. (UTC+8) Sunday to Monday, Jan. 7-8.

2.PLA activities：
9 PLA aircraft and 4 PLAN vessels around Taiwan were detected by 06:00 (UTC+8) today. 1 of the detected aircraft had entered Taiwan’s southwest ADIZ. R.O.C. Armed Forces have monitored the situation and tasked CAP aircraft, Navy vessels, and land-based missile systems to respond to these activities.

3.PLA balloons：
Three PRC’s balloons were detected at 11:54, 12:35, and 20:45 yesterday after crossing the median line of the Taiwan Strait at the location 103 nautical miles west of Keelung, 85 nautical miles northwest of Keelung, and 114 miles west of Pingtung respectively. The balloons’ altitude were approximately 18,000, 24,000, and 23,000 feet respectively. The balloons headed east and sequentially disappeared at 12:30, 14:55 yesterday and 00:21 today.
